Babel School wants to offer continuity in education and to start a high school as well.
In 2016, we were authorized for Primary Cycle. In 2018, when we also moved into a new location, we were authorized for Secondary Cycle.
By the year 2022 we intend to authorize the high school, a bilingual profile (English-Romanian).

For 2021-2022 school year our school is prepared for grade 0 (two classes), 1st grade (two classes), 2nd grade (two classes), 3rd grade (two classes), 4th grade (one class), 5th grade (one class), 6th grade (one class), 7th grade (one class) and 8th grade (one class).

A maximum of 18 students.
In order to keep the learning process relevant for every child and to respect different learning rhythms, we want every unit (2 classes) to have a third person that can offer support and educational counseling. We’ve already started this pilot approach in 2018, for grade 0.

Babel Schools follows the national curriculum, extended with the curriculum that’s left at the School’s choice, with an emphasis on developing foreign language competences and environmental competence.

Our methods are based on the principles of Experiential Learning and Noviolent Communication, both applied with successful results in the educational systems of Holland, Sweden and England.

We create and nurture an environment rich in experiences, where children develop competences that prepare them for life in the local and global context. We want, through innovative methods, to help them participate with joy, courage and care to the world around them.

Yes, our students participate in the national evaluations for 2nd grade, 4th grade, 6th grade and 8th grade.

Our school has classrooms (designed with furniture and materials that are age appropriate and also that facilitate individual and group work), a kitchen, a dining room, a gym and an outdoor sports area, a library, a MakerSpace, a playground area, a garden and relaxation area.

The School functions with all the necessary authorizations by ARACIP (Romanian Agency for Quality in Education), and by Health and Safety institutions.

Our learning program is designed in order to develop competences. Children learn step by step in order to be able to participate more in the world. Through practical experiences and project-based activities, they research, ask questions, apply what they have discovered and learn to be an active part of the world they live in. The role of the teacher is to create conditions for developing competences, to track the progress of every kid and to support the individual learning process through counselling.

Yes, if you want you have the option to choose just the short program.

Yes, taking into consideration our admission procedure and if there are places that we still have available.

The gym class takes place in our courtyard, in the gym or in the nearby park.

During the day they are activities scheduled to take place outside: motricity games or relaxing breaks that happen in the school’s courtyard or in Karlsruhe Park. Also, Fridays are dedicated to going out in nature and to experiences that take place in a forest, a garden, a farm or in the city.

Children study based on learning contracts. The contracts are designed in such a way that, with a high level of involvement, children can practice the addressed competences exclusively during school hours. In case of low involvement or possible difficulties in exercising the competences, it is possible, to ask parents to offer support to the kids when they practice at home.

No, our school doesn’t intend to introduce a uniform.

We expect parents to answer our invitations to have respectful and honest dialogue regarding school (individual counseling meetings, feedback meetings) and also for them to reach out to our team in order to find solutions whenever there’s a problem. We want to create space for a dialogue where every participant feels that he or she matters and is respected.

Also, every family has a chance to create learning experiences for the whole community, during the after school program or as part of the extracurricular activities.

Babel School, an authorized school, issues a transcript document like any other school in Romania. The document can then be translated, and normally, is valid in any European Country.
